Welcome to the Parish of St Mary the Virgin, Wellingborough
A very warm welcome to this website. Our beautiful church is a place of prayer, peace and joy for all who visit us, either for private reflection or to share in worship. Our services are traditional in style but always accessible and we pride ourselves on the warmth of our welcome. Our growing parish community is richly diverse, with people of all ages and backgrounds coming happily together on Sunday mornings and at other times.
St Mary’s is a Church of England parish in the diocese of Peterborough and stands firmly within the Anglo-Catholic tradition under the episcopal care of the Bishop of Richborough.

This Church of England church known for its stunning interior designed by Sir Ninian Comper. It’s a free-standing example of the gothic style with rich ornamentation, particularly in its gilded furnishings and ceiling.
We are always happy to welcome visitors, but please note that the church is not usually kept open. To avoid disappointment, do make contact with us to arrange your visit. For those using satellite navigation the postcode is NN8 1HJ. Entry to the churchyard is via St Mary’s Paddock in Knox Road.
